Locations and Settings
Scenes for my music video will be set at various local locations, ranging from indoors to outdoors, and also making sure the mise-en-scene is a perfect representation of my chosen genre.
This is the garage location used for the majority of my music video. I chose to film in this particular place as many bands start off messing about with songs in their garage, so I felt if I could portray this to the audience they would feel a connection with the band - that the band has only just started out and they are no different from you, as you could pick up some instruments and perform in a garage.
This is the "back of the taxi" location used. This location conformed the lyrics of the music, as the lead singer is passed out in the back of a taxi. This particular location also conforms to Goodwin's Theory, as there is a direct relation between the lyrics and visuals.
This is another location which conforms to Goodwin's Theory that there is a direct relation between lyrics and visuals. In this particular location, the lead singer is sitting on his bed, drinking beer and on the phone. I believe that this location is effective because of the realism of it, as the audience can relate to drinking beer on their bed and talking to someone on their phone.
These were the locations that I filmed for my music video. I believe that they conform to the codes and conventions of typical music videos in this genre due to the mise-en-scene that can be seen. However, if I were to create another music video, I would include more locations in order to keep the visuals fresh for the audience; I had to compensate for this with the amount of camera angles I used in my final product.
